Bringing the LUV of Jesus to Honduras: Jennifer’s Mission Trip Testimony
After winning a mission trip in last year’s giveaway, Jennifer embarked on a life-changing mission trip to Honduras with Coreluv earlier this summer. She and the team visited our future children’s village and some of our partnering feeding centers! Coreluv’s mission to bring the LUV of Jesus to orphans around the world by meeting their six basic needs touched her heart deeply, and her experience transformed her perspective on orphan care.
Jennifer recalls seeing God “everywhere” in Honduras, but one moment stood out the most. A young Honduran girl, full of life despite difficult circumstances, praised the Lord with unshakable faith. Her joy and ambition left a lasting impression on Jennifer. It was a powerful reminder of how God’s love transcends circumstances and how, even in the midst of the orphan crisis, there is hope, faith, and the beauty of children living out God’s promises.
Standing on the future site of Coreluv’s Cedros Children’s Village, Jennifer thought about the overwhelming need she saw firsthand. Her heart broke for these children. It was the kind of brokenness that reflected God’s heart—a compassionate response to the orphan crisis that stirred a desire in her to provide more than just emotional support but tangible care. While the Cedros Children’s Village is still a vision, that vision of a home filled with God’s love and provision brought immense hope to her.
Reflecting on her experience, Jennifer encourages others to step out in faith and go on a mission trip. She said prayer, fasting, and seeking counsel were vital in overcoming her doubts leading up to the trip. Ultimately, her obedience to God’s call was the most rewarding thing she could have done. Her journey to Honduras opened her eyes to the deep need and the reality that God works everywhere—in her hometown and Honduras!
Jennifer’s prayer is that God will continue to break her heart in the areas that need molding and use her for His purposes. Her mission experience has ignited a desire to be an evangelist and a provider for orphans, reflecting God’s heart for the most vulnerable. She encourages anyone considering a trip to pray, seek godly counsel, and trust that God can use them in ways they never imagined!
