Community
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Acts 2:42
There is something so real about living in community with others in the Christian faith. Real in the sense that faith in that atmosphere feels ALIVE. Breathing. Moving. Multiplying.
Jesus gave us the best example of community living. He spent three years of his life living in close communion with his disciples. He gathered with the masses but concentrated on the few. He understood that if a few fully got it, then a few could fully change the world. It’s difficult to multiply what you don’t fully possess. Jesus made sure he took the time to give them His ALL!
Similar to what I’ve read about in the gospels, I love the feeling of being in Haiti and living in close community with other believers on the mission field. I see Jesus there in a way that I’ve never quite seen him before. Jesus beautifully revealed through a community of believers worshipping God by meeting the needs of those around them. Kingdom life at its finest! Breathing. Moving. Multiplying.
Perhaps it’s been a while since you’ve ventured out to share the gospel with others? Don’t miss out on the life Jesus modeled for you! Take your faith beyond what you’ve experienced and commit to GO on a mission trip.
Even if it’s in your city! It’s highly probable you’ll find Jesus there!! He gave his life for community!
Defending the Orphan goes beyond one day, one week, one month, even beyond one year. It is a daily call to care for and pray for the children we have been entrusted with. We could NOT do what we do without each and every one of our partners. It takes all of us together to make a difference in the lives of these children, daily providing their six basic needs of clean water, proper food, healthcare, education, job skills and a Christ-centered loving home. If you are not already an Orphan Care Partner, you can become one today. Visit our Orphan Care Partnership Page for more info. Thank you.
Defending the Orphan,
