God Defends the Orphan! So can YOU
Jan 15, 2017

A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.  God sets the lonely in families…(Psalm 68:5,6)

Have you ever wondered what God looked like?

Who exactly is He?

I am sure, because of the smallness of our human brains, we would not be able to contain a complete description of God’s attributes even if we were told. But aren’t you glad God gave us His Holy Spirit to help us understand more clearly the mystery of who He is?! The Bible paints for us an accurate, detailed message of God giving us a beautiful glimpse into an infinite picture of our Heavenly Father.

I love so much what the above verses say about God in Psalm 68. A Father to the Fatherless, A defender of widows is God in His holy dwelling. It’s part of God’s being and a part of His nature to defend the orphan and the widow. You cannot separate Him from it. It’s WHO HE IS!!!

I really believe with all of my heart this is the reason Coreluv has experienced so much miraculous provision over the past five and a half years allowing us to rescue, clothe, feed, house, and love on orphans in Haiti. Defending the Orphan is simply Who God is!

Children like Brenda remind me of that powerful truth.

Brenda is the newest addition to the Coreluv family who was brought to us by social services in Haiti after they learned she was abandoned at the hospital.

Brenda is 8 months old and has a rare condition known as hydrocephalus, a condition where cerebral fluid surrounds the brain and spinal cord. We praise God that social services brought Brenda to Coreluv because they believe she will be properly loved and receive the medical attention she so desperately needs.

It really is overwhelming when I think about the supernatural provision of God and how He has enabled Coreluv to care for children like Brenda. I cannot comprehend someone abandoning their child; but sadly, it happens far too often in countries like Haiti. I am just thankful that organizations like Coreluv exist so children like Brenda can continue to live.

There are certain things that are definite about God. God is VAST and God is without completely figuring out. But ONE thing I know: God loves the orphan and He uses ordinary people like you and me to defend them!  Thank you, God, that you’ve chosen Coreluv to be a part of your working and that you’re still setting the lonely in families!
