God is for Us!

God is for Us!

So David triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, for he had no sword. (1 Sam. 17:50 New Living Translation)

The underdogs. I’ve rooted for them for years. My heart longs to see them succeed and to dismantle the labels placed upon them by this world. Whether they appear too small, too slow, too disadvantaged to measure up to their opponents, the odds stacked against them beacons my heart to HOPE they WIN!

Mike and I have shared this desire for as long as I can remember. I love that quality about my husband. He has a heart to see the weaker person succeed. It’s what makes watching a football or basketball game on tv more enjoyable for me ha!  (Disclaimer: He occasionally shuts the underdog switch off when his favorite team is playing. It’s WIN or go home then😄!)

I think we can all relate to the underdog. And if we are truly honest, deep inside, we ARE the underdog.

Or at least I’ve felt that way at certain intervals in my life. There are seasons where we may not “feel” like we quite measure up. It is there where we must TRUST GOD and forge ahead! We must allow God’s word to settle deep into our hearts. If God is for us, who can be against us?!

Our precious children at the Coreluv Myan Children’s Village in Haiti just launched their first soccer league. It was a beautiful sight to see the photos, videos, and updates of their first game. Besides their being unbelievably cute dressed in their soccer uniforms, I was heart-struck by the reality that most of these children in Haiti would never in a million years have been afforded the opportunity to be a part of a real soccer team.  BUT GOD!

God is FOR the “seemingly” disadvantaged! (Moses, Gideon, David!)  God is for the lonely, God is for the orphan, and God is for US!

I LOVE that about our heavenly Father!  And because of that, we can enter the game! Go BIG RED!!
