Meet Cassandra. Today she is properly cared for because someone said, “Yes.”
Apr 3, 2018

Cassandra came to Dorothy Pearce’s Orphanage, Faith Hope Love Infant Rescue, on December 22, 2011 when she was 7 years old. Miss Dorothy is an American missionary who lived in Haiti for 9 years. When Coreluv stepped foot in Haiti in June of 2011, the children from Miss Dorothy’s orphanage in Port-au-Prince were the first children we came to know and love. In June 2015, many of the of children from Miss Dorothy’s orphanage transitioned to The Myan Children’s Village. Faith, Hope Love Infant Rescue and Coreluv merged and we added precious children like Cassandra to our family in Myan.

When she first came to Miss Dorothy’s orphanage, it was discovered that Cassandra had HIV and a mental disorder. Cassandra’s mental and medical conditions required care that her family could not provide and her extended family did not want any contact with her.

Discovering that there was NO ONE who could properly provide for Cassandra, she was put into the care of Miss Dorothy. There was no question that she needed to be placed in a home where she could be loved and cared for as every child should be.

We are thankful that Miss Dorothy said yes to Cassandra and that today she continues to receive the proper love and medical care she deserves. Cassandra is very loving, enjoys playing with her sisters, and welcomes everyone with a beautiful smile. Who might be on the other side of your yes?

Defending the Orphan goes beyond one day, one week, one month, even beyond one year. It is a daily call to care for and pray for these children. We could NOT do what we do without each and every one of our partners. It takes all of us together to make a difference in the lives of these children, daily providing their six basic needs of clean water, proper food, healthcare, education, job skills and a Christ-centered loving home. If you are not already an Orphan Care Partner, you can say yes and become one today by visiting our Orphan Care Partnership Page. Thank you.
