From Hardship to Hope: The Inspiring Journey of Dieudonné and Frantz
Every success story at Coreluv is a testament to resilience, faith, and the LUV of Jesus. Today, we celebrate two remarkable young men—Dieudonné and Frantz—whose lives have been transformed and who are now embarking on a new chapter of independence and hope.
A Humble Beginning and a Life Transformed
Both Dieudonné and Frantz were once orphans facing a future filled with uncertainty. At Coreluv’s Maissade Children’s Village in Haiti, they found a loving, Christ-centered home where they learned that they were sons of their Heavenly Father, created with purpose and intention.
Dieudonné entered our Transition Program in 2023. Through his determination and the support of our mentors, he completed discipleship training school in June of that year. Upon returning to Gonaives, he joined forces with Frantz and another peer, Jonas, working and learning in a local mechanic shop under the guidance of a skilled senior mechanic. In January 2025, Dieudonné proudly completed his mechanic apprenticeship—a milestone that marked his transition into adulthood.
Frantz’s Journey: From Tragedy to Triumph
Frantz’s story, too, is one of courage amidst profound loss. Born into sorrow—having lost his father to complications from lung issues and his mother shortly after his birth—Frantz was raised by an aunt who, despite her best efforts, could only do so much given her own frailties. Eventually, Frantz, the youngest of five siblings, found refuge at the Coreluv Children’s Village.
There, not only did he receive the essentials he desperately needed, but he also discovered a love for school and playing soccer with the other children in the village. His dream is to help others, ensuring that no one is left without care.
Stepping into Adulthood Together
This historic year marks a defining moment for both Dieudonné and Frantz. They have moved out of our Transition Home and returned to Maissade with hope in their hearts and a shared dream of starting a mechanic business.
United by their passion and the skills they honed together in Gonaives, they are preparing to rent an apartment together and eventually launch a shop where they will repair vehicles—a business built on supporting the community and bringing value to those around them.
A special photo, captured on the day they moved out with Rubens, our Haiti Operations Director, serves as a powerful reminder of this incredible milestone. In that moment, the bond between these young men and the lasting impact of a caring community shone brightly.
