Meet Edson!
In July 2017, Coreluv hosted a medical clinic in a village outside the town of Gonaives, Haiti. On day three of the clinic, we learned of a little boy named Edson whose mother had left the house while a candle was burning. In a brief moment, the candle turned over, and the back of Edson’s legs were burned. He was able to get initial treatment at the clinic but was also connected to our Doctor on staff for ongoing care. It was during this time that we learned that Edson and his sister, Ismaella, were in desperate need of a home. Their mother was not able to provide even their most basic needs, and there were no family members able to step in and help.
As his body healed, Edson was left with a large amount of scar tissue on the back side of his knees and thighs that prevented him from being able to extend his legs past a ninety-degree angle.
In 2018, our stateside team was completely surprised to receive a video of Edson standing and WALKING. We can only contribute this to the grace of God.
In 2023, Edson underwent another surgery to repair his leg muscles, enhancing his mobility and walking ability. Join us in praying for continued progress as we witness the goodness of God in Edson’s life!
