When Coreluv first stepped foot in Haiti in June of 2011, we met Dorothy Pearce, an American missionary who cared for sick and orphaned children. Her orphanage, Faith, Hope Love Infant Rescue in Port Au Prince was the first orphanage we visited, and her children were the first children we came to know and love! Because of Coreluv’s partnership with Miss Dorothy over the years, most of her children transitioned to Coreluv Myan Children’s Village upon her retirement in June of 2015. Gerdeline was one of those children. Gerdeline came to Miss Dorothy’s Orphanage on September 9, 2011, when she was just two years old, and joined the Coreluv family in June 2015.
In 2009, Gerdeline was given to an American by her grandmother because her parents could not properly provide for even her most basic needs as a baby. She was then placed into the care of Miss Dorothy. When presented with this situation, there was no question that Gerdeline needed to be in a home where she could be loved and cared for as every child should be.
We are thankful that Miss Dorothy said YES to Gerdeline and helped nurse her back to health at a very young age. Today, Gerdeline is a strong-minded, self-confident, intelligent young girl. She is also very helpful and loving. Her birthday is February 7, 2009. We know that God will use her strong-mindedness and confidence to bring glory to His name. We are excited about the future God has prepared for her!
