We’ve Officially Broken Ground in Honduras!
We’re celebrating a historic milestone: Coreluv has officially broken ground in Honduras, marking a new chapter in Defending the Orphan!
This marks an incredible step in a story that has been unfolding for decades, a story of God’s faithfulness, divine connections, and the LUV of Jesus at work through His people. We are especially thankful for the partners, churches, and friends who have made this possible.
A Dream Planted in a Child’s Heart
It all began with a dream from God placed in the heart of our Honduras director, Karla, at just nine years old, a dream to care for orphaned and vulnerable children in her home country of Honduras.
Years later, that seed of vision began to grow through the obedience and partnership of many.
What began as a quiet dream in a child’s heart has become a living testimony of God’s faithfulness. Through the years, He has connected people, churches, and nations to see His promise fulfilled, turning one girl’s prayer into a movement to bring the LUV of Jesus to the orphan in Honduras.
Divine Partnerships
God connected Karla to Dwelling Place Church in Houston, which laid the groundwork for this dream to become reality on land that belonged to Karla’s family.
Through that partnership, Coreluv was introduced to Honduras, established as a nonprofit, and acquired enough land to build homes for children who had none.
Step by step, through the faith and generosity of Defenders, churches, and businesses, the vision has moved from dream to reality.
Many of you have traveled to this land on mission trips, walking the soil, worshiping, and praying for the day when children would call it home. Your prayers have paved the way for all that is unfolding.
Construction Has Begun
We celebrate that construction has officially begun on the Cedros Children’s Village. The sound of tractors breaking ground marked the beginning of homes soon to be filled with laughter, love, and a sense of belonging.
Nestled in the lush mountains of Honduras, this village will be a place where children are welcomed into loving homes, receive their six basic needs, and experience the transforming LUV of Jesus in a family.
This groundbreaking is laying a foundation for lives to be changed for generations to come.
